Stepping up asthma care: new test may gauge fitness

NCT ID NCT07357805

First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at whether the 6-minute stepper test (stepping up and down for six minutes) is a good way to measure exercise capacity in adults with asthma. 41 people with well-controlled asthma took part. Researchers compared the stepper test results with a standard treadmill test to see if the simpler test was reliable and valid. The goal was to find an easier tool for doctors to assess fitness in asthma patients.
