Brain-Tuned sound waves offer hope for ringing ears
NCT ID NCT06646302
Summary
This study tested whether a specific pulsing sound pattern (40 Hz bursts) could provide longer-lasting relief from tinnitus (ringing in the ears) compared to traditional continuous masking sounds. Researchers worked with 265 adults with chronic tinnitus to measure how strongly and for how long the ringing was reduced after listening to different sounds. They also used brain wave recordings (EEG) to understand how this sound therapy might work in the brain.
