Brain-Tuned sound waves offer hope for ringing ears

NCT ID NCT06646302

Summary

This study tested whether a specific pulsing sound pattern (40 Hz bursts) could provide longer-lasting relief from tinnitus compared to traditional continuous background noise. Researchers worked with 265 adults who experience chronic ringing in their ears to measure how strongly and for how long the sound reduced their symptoms. They also used brain scans (EEG) to understand how this therapy might work in the brain.
