3D models may make liver surgery safer
NCT ID NCT07297615
First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests whether custom 3D liver models help surgeons better predict how much liver to remove during surgery. Accurate planning can lower the risk of liver failure after the operation. About 25 adults having major liver surgery will get a 3D model before their procedure. After surgery, the removed tissue is scanned to see how well the model matched reality.
