Shorter antibiotic course may be just as effective for diabetic foot infections
NCT ID NCT05074147
First seen Jan 18, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at whether 3 weeks of antibiotics works as well as 6 weeks for people with diabetes who have a bone infection in their foot and are not having surgery. The goal was to see if a shorter treatment could still cure the infection, reduce side effects, and avoid amputation. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
