New 3-D brain mapping could sharpen ultrasound tremor treatment

NCT ID NCT06331052

First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether a 3-D brain imaging technique called tractography can make focused ultrasound ablation more precise for people with essential tremor. About 24 adults with moderate to severe tremor that hasn't responded to medication will receive the procedure. The goal is to reduce tremor with fewer side effects by better targeting the brain area responsible.
