New supplement trial aims to boost 'good' cholesterol power in inherited condition

Summary
This study is testing whether a supplement called 2-HOBA can improve how well 'good' HDL cholesterol works in people with familial hypercholesterolemia, an inherited condition causing very high cholesterol. About 72 participants will take either 2-HOBA or a placebo pill three times a day for six weeks. Researchers will measure if the supplement helps the 'good' cholesterol remove more 'bad' cholesterol from the body.
