New scan could spot hidden tumors in kids

NCT ID NCT03541720

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This early-phase study tests a radioactive tracer called 18F-DA to see if it can create clearer PET scan images of neuroblastoma and pheochromocytoma tumors in children. The standard tracer often misses very small areas of disease. About 20 participants will receive the tracer and be monitored for side effects, while researchers compare the new images to standard scans to see if 18F-DA could replace the current method.
