MONDO:0016729A group of central nervous system neoplasms with a variable amount of neuronal and, less consistently, glial differentiation. They occur at a low frequency and usually carry a favorable prognosis. Representative examples include dysplastic cerebellar gangliocytoma, desmoplastic infantile ganglioglioma, desmoplastic infantile astrocytoma, and dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumor. Also known as: neuronal and Glio-neuronal neoplasm, neuronal and Glio-neuronal tumor, neuronal and Glio-neuronal tumour, neuronal and mixed neuronal-glial tumor, neuronal and mixed neuronal-glial tumors, neuronal and mixed neuronal-glial tumour, neuronal and mixed neuronal-glial tumours

Can a targeted pill outperform chemotherapy for childhood brain tumors?
Disease control Recruiting nowThis trial tests whether a daily oral drug called trametinib can better control low-grade gliomas in children and young adults compared to standard weekly vinblastine chemotherapy. The study focuses on patients whose tumors do not have certain genetic changes (BRAF V600 mutation)…

Engineered t cells take on deadly brain cancers
Disease control Recruiting nowThis early-phase trial tests a new type of immune therapy for people with certain aggressive brain tumors, including DIPG and high-grade glioma. The treatment uses the patient's own T cells, which are modified in the lab to recognize a protein called GD2 on cancer cells and to pr…

Can this drug cross the Brain's barrier to fight tumors?
Knowledge-focused Recruiting nowThis early-stage trial is testing whether the drug ulixertinib can cross the blood-brain barrier in people with recurrent brain tumors called gliomas. About 40 adults will take the drug before surgery to see how much reaches the tumor and how safe it is. The goal is to learn if t…
