Expanded access (not trials)

Expanded access
Not a trial. This treatment can be requested outside a study, case by case, for people who qualify.
Expanded access (paused)
Not a trial. The treatment can normally be requested outside a study, but is unavailable right now.
Expanded access (ended)
Not a trial. The treatment could once be requested outside a study, but no longer can.
Approved

Summary

This trial asks whether zongertinib tablets made by two different manufacturers are absorbed into the body in the same way. Healthy adults aged 18 to 50 take a single dose of each version, both on an empty stomach and after a meal, to compare how the drug levels change over time. The study uses a crossover design, so each participant receives all four combinations in a random order. The goal is to confirm the two formulations are bioequivalent, meaning they can be used interchangeably.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Zongertinib tablets from two different manufacturers
What this could lead to
If the two versions are shown to be equivalent, it could support using either manufacturer's tablet interchangeably in future studies and treatments.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage trial in healthy volunteers, not patients, and it measures drug levels in the blood rather than clinical benefit. The two formulations might not prove to be bioequivalent.
