Moderna tests new mRNA shot against zika virus

NCT ID NCT04917861

Summary

This study tested the safety and immune response of an experimental mRNA vaccine (mRNA-1893) designed to prevent Zika virus infection. It involved 808 healthy adults, some with and some without prior exposure to similar viruses like dengue. Researchers compared two different vaccine doses to a placebo to see how well the body produced protective antibodies and to monitor for side effects.
