Summary
This study tested an experimental mRNA vaccine (mRNA-1893) to prevent Zika virus, a mosquito-borne disease that can cause serious birth defects. About 800 healthy adults aged 18 to 65 received either the vaccine or a placebo. Researchers checked for side effects and measured the body's immune response to see if the vaccine is safe and triggers protection.
