New pill aims to restore skin color in vitiligo patients

Summary
This study is testing an oral medication called zasocitinib to see if it can help restore skin color in adults with nonsegmental vitiligo, an autoimmune condition that causes white patches on the skin. About 200 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the study drug or a placebo (a pill with no medicine) for up to one year, with clinic visits to monitor safety and measure changes in the skin. The main goal is to see how well the drug works and how safe it is, specifically looking for improvement in facial and body skin color after 24 weeks.
