Can helping others heal the helper? young refugees test new role
NCT ID NCT05265611
Summary
This study explored whether training young Syrian refugees to be community mental health workers would improve their own wellbeing, stress, and coping skills. Researchers compared 115 young adults who either became mental health helpers, provided tutoring, or received no special role. The goal was to understand if meaningful community work acts as a protective factor for youth in difficult humanitarian settings.
