First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looked at whether eating yam gruel every day for 12 weeks could improve cholesterol levels in people with coronary heart disease who had a stent placed. 72 patients were split into two groups: one received standard care, and the other also ate about 150 grams of yam gruel as a partial dinner replacement. Researchers measured cholesterol and body mass index at the start, at 8 weeks, and at 12 weeks.
