Summary
This study aimed to test if chewing gum sweetened with xylitol could prevent new cavities in schoolchildren aged 5-14 in Ladakh, India. Children would have chewed the gum several times a day during the school year, and their dental health would have been tracked for two years afterward. The trial was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
