Massive study tracks 4,000 patients after heart stent procedures

NCT ID NCT02042300

Summary

This study observed 4,000 patients who received XIENCE drug-coated stents to open blocked heart arteries during routine medical care. Researchers tracked patients for about 3 days after their procedure to monitor for complications like heart attacks, additional procedures, or death. The goal was to understand how well these commonly used stents perform in everyday practice outside of controlled research settings.
