NCT ID NCT06168669
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This completed study tested a special surgical drain with built-in sensors that monitors for anastomotic leaks after colorectal surgery. Over 200 patients having rectal or sigmoid resections were enrolled. The drain collects data to see if it can detect leaks earlier than standard methods. Doctors were kept unaware of the device's readings to test its accuracy.
