Can writing heal a traumatic birth? new study tests simple 3-Day therapy
NCT ID NCT05662423
Summary
This study is testing if a brief writing exercise can help prevent post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in new mothers who had a stressful childbirth. Women at risk for childbirth-related PTSD will be asked to write about their birth experience for 15 minutes a day for three days shortly after delivery. Researchers will then check if this simple activity reduces PTSD symptoms and helps improve the bond between mother and baby a few months later.
