Summary

This study is testing whether using a special vacuum device on surgical wounds helps prevent infections in people recovering from gastrointestinal cancer surgery. Researchers are comparing the vacuum therapy to standard wound dressings in 290 patients. The main goal is to see if this approach reduces wound infections and helps patients get back to their planned cancer treatments sooner.
