Scientists probe if new wound dressing changes ulcer bacteria
NCT ID NCT04437537
Summary
This small pilot study aimed to see if a synthetic wound dressing called PHOENIX changes the types of bacteria and fungi living in chronic diabetic foot ulcers. Researchers enrolled 11 adults with diabetes and a foot ulcer that hadn't healed for at least 4 weeks. They collected wound samples before and after using the dressing to analyze the microscopic life in the wound.
