New device aims to predict which wounds are ready to heal

Summary
This study is testing a new medical device called WounDx™. The device analyzes fluid from a patient's large, serious wound and gives surgeons a report to help them decide the best time to surgically close it. The goal is to reduce the chance the wound re-opens after surgery. This small pilot study will check if using the device in a hospital setting is practical before a larger trial.
