Veterans try mind trick to shed pounds in VA weight loss study
NCT ID NCT05014984
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested whether a mental technique called WOOP (Wish, Outcome, Obstacle, Plan) could help veterans with obesity lose more weight when added to the VA's telephone-based MOVE! program. About 405 veterans took part. The goal was to see if combining WOOP with standard weight management support leads to greater weight loss than the program alone.
