Dentists test skipping stitches after wisdom tooth surgery

NCT ID NCT02583997

Summary

This study tested whether leaving the tooth sockets open after removing all four wisdom teeth reduces pain compared to the standard practice of stitching them closed. It involved 100 patients who had their wisdom teeth removed under general anesthesia. Researchers measured pain, swelling, healing, and other recovery factors over 31 days to see which method worked better.
