Wireless monitors may ease labor pain for Moms-to-Be
NCT ID NCT07233187
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether using a wireless fetal monitor during labor can reduce pain and improve the birth experience compared to standard wired monitors. About 112 healthy pregnant women will be randomly assigned to either wireless or wired monitoring. Researchers will measure pain levels and birth satisfaction using questionnaires.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
wireless electronic fetal monitoring device
What this could lead to
If it works, this could show that wireless monitoring makes labor less painful and more comfortable for mothers.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 112 participants, so results may not apply to all births. The intervention is a device, not a drug, so benefits may be modest.
