New blood tests may better track copper in Wilson's disease
NCT ID NCT07462026
First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at two new blood tests, called exchangeable copper (EC) and relative exchangeable copper (REC), to see if they can better monitor copper levels in people with Wilson's disease. Researchers compared these tests with standard urine and blood copper measurements in 81 adults. The goal was to improve how doctors track the disease, not to test a new treatment.
