Summary

This study looked at how the tiny organisms in your gut (the microbiome) affect how many calories your body absorbs from food. Researchers measured methane in breath as a clue to different gut bacteria types. Sixty healthy adults ate two special diets that had the same calories but different fibers to see how their gut microbes changed calorie loss in stool.
