New score aims to protect kids from unnecessary radiation in trauma care

NCT ID NCT07411235

Summary

This study aimed to create a decision-making tool to help emergency doctors determine when injured children truly need a full-body CT scan. Researchers analyzed data from 407 pediatric trauma patients to identify key signs that predict serious, multi-region injuries. The goal is to reduce unnecessary radiation exposure from scans while still ensuring children with serious injuries get the imaging they need.
