First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether using a whole-body vibration plate at home for 12 weeks can reduce knee pain and inflammation in adults aged 40-75 with osteoarthritis. Participants stand on the device for up to 20 minutes per session. Researchers will measure pain sensitivity, artery stiffness, and blood markers of inflammation.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Whole-body vibration plate (device)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to ease knee pain and improve blood vessel health in people with osteoarthritis.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early pilot study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply widely. The training requires standing for up to 20 minutes, which may be difficult for some.
