New wheelchair gadgets aim to make hospital rides smoother for cancer patients

NCT ID NCT06902883

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study tested two simple changes to hospital wheelchairs: a holder to keep IV poles attached during transport, and a more comfortable seat. Researchers wanted to see if these upgrades could shorten travel time and reduce pain for cancer patients being moved around the hospital. About 154 patients took part, and their feedback on comfort and pain was collected.
