First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at whether treating private well water with ultraviolet (UV) light can lower the number of stomach illnesses in children under 5. About 900 families in Pennsylvania and New Jersey with private wells will use either a real UV device or a fake one. Researchers will track symptoms like diarrhea and vomiting to see if water treatment makes a difference.
