Singing and foot massages tested as cancer pain relievers
NCT ID NCT05493150
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether four well-being treatments — foot reflexology, socio-aesthetics (beauty and skincare), sophrology (a relaxation technique), and singing — can help reduce pain in people with cancer. 180 adult cancer patients took part. The goal was to see if these non-drug approaches could ease pain and improve well-being.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
well-being treatments (foot reflexology, socio-aesthetics, sophrology, singing)
What this could lead to
If these approaches prove effective, they could offer drug-free ways to help manage cancer pain and improve quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a controlled trial, so it cannot prove cause and effect. Results may be influenced by other factors, and the pain relief might be modest or not apply to everyone.
