Lifting weights to lift brain fog: new study targets perimenopausal memory

NCT ID NCT07272174

Summary

This study is testing whether a 6-month weight training program can improve memory and thinking skills in perimenopausal women who are noticing cognitive difficulties. Researchers will compare weight training to a balance and stretching program in 50 inactive women aged 40-55. The goal is to see if exercise can be a strategy to support brain health during this life transition, which is linked to increased dementia risk.
