Can surgery for obesity make you happier in social situations?

NCT ID NCT05207917

Summary

This study is looking at how two common weight loss surgeries—gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy—affect people's social lives and overall sense of well-being. Researchers will follow 113 people with obesity for a year after their surgery to see if and how their enjoyment of social interactions, body image, and stress hormones change. The goal is to understand the less obvious benefits of these procedures beyond just weight loss.
