Can weight loss surgery sharpen your mind? new study uses VR games to find out
NCT ID NCT07229924
Summary
This study is investigating whether bariatric (weight loss) surgery can improve cognitive functions like memory and attention in people with severe obesity. Researchers will follow 42 patients, testing their thinking skills using both traditional paper tests and a virtual reality video game before surgery and again at 3 and 6 months after. The goal is to understand if and how major weight loss might benefit brain health.
