One-Time procedure aims to lock in weight loss after popular drugs
NCT ID NCT06484114
Summary
This study is testing whether a one-time, outpatient endoscopic procedure can help people keep weight off after they stop taking a weight-loss medication (tirzepatide). Participants first take the medication to lose at least 15% of their body weight. They are then randomly assigned to receive either the real procedure or a sham (placebo) procedure to see which group better maintains their weight loss over one year. The goal is to find a lasting solution for weight maintenance after medication ends.
