Can losing weight change how your body burns food?

NCT ID NCT07400159

Summary

This study aims to understand if losing weight changes how much energy the body uses to digest food in obese teenagers. Researchers will measure this 'food heat' effect in 30 adolescents before and after a weight loss program and compare it to teens of normal weight. The goal is to gather knowledge about energy balance to help improve future obesity management strategies.
