Scientists test High-Protein diet to stop muscle loss from popular Weight-Loss drugs

NCT ID NCT07495904

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to help adults with obesity lose weight while keeping their muscle. Researchers are testing if adding a high-protein diet to a common weight-loss medication (GLP-1 agonist) can prevent the loss of muscle mass that sometimes happens with these drugs. About 130 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the medication alone or the medication plus specific dietary advice to increase protein.
