Fighting Cancer's wasting away: can a simple drug help patients keep their strength?

Summary
This study is testing if adding a drug called megestrol acetate helps patients with advanced stomach cancer maintain their weight and appetite while they receive strong pre-surgery treatment. It will involve 48 patients who have significant weight loss (cachexia). Half will get the standard pre-surgery treatment, and half will get the standard treatment plus the weight-loss drug, to see which group does better at keeping weight on.
