Weight loss warning: simple scale and blood test could spot cancer sooner
NCT ID NCT05481697
First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looks at whether weekly weight tracking combined with a special blood test (GRAIL Galleri) can help find cancer earlier in people who lose weight without trying. About 1,000 adults aged 40 to 80 who have lost at least 5% of their body weight will be followed for up to 3 years. If the blood test is positive, they will get further exams to check for cancer. If negative, they will see a specialist to find other causes of weight loss.
