Army eyes Weight-Loss drug to boost soldier fitness

NCT ID NCT06468748

Summary

This planned study aimed to see if the weight-loss drug Wegovy (semaglutide) could help control obesity in active-duty military members. It would have measured how the drug affects body fat, muscle mass, and physical performance over 24 weeks of treatment, followed by a year of observation. The goal was to understand if this medication could be a useful tool for improving health and readiness in the military, but the study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
