Weekly blaster: shorter radiation course offers hope for ineligible patients

NCT ID NCT01810757

Summary

This UK study tested a shorter, weekly radiotherapy schedule for patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer who were not healthy enough for standard surgery or daily radiation. It compared a standard treatment plan to a newer 'adaptive' method that could adjust the radiation field daily based on bladder scans. The main goals were to see if the adaptive method was practical across multiple hospitals and if the weekly schedule could control the cancer while keeping side effects manageable.
