Could the weather predict a deadly aortic tear? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT07467486

Summary

This study aims to see if adding local weather and air pollution information to a doctor's checklist can help emergency rooms spot dangerous aortic tears more quickly. Researchers will look back at the medical records of 580 patients to see if those who had an aortic tear were exposed to different environmental conditions. The goal is to create a better tool to help doctors make this critical diagnosis when patients arrive with chest, back, or abdominal pain.
