Could a wearable mask make sleep apnea treatment more comfortable?
NCT ID NCT07420140
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early trial tests a new wearable PAP mask system for people with obstructive sleep apnea. Fifteen participants will use the device for up to 7 nights to rate its comfort, seal, and usability. The goal is to improve the user experience, not to measure treatment effectiveness.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) device with a wearable mask system
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a more comfortable and user-friendly PAP mask for sleep apnea patients.
What could go wrong
This is a very small early trial with only 15 participants, all of whom are ResMed employees. It only tests comfort and usability, not whether the device effectively treats sleep apnea.
