New contact lenses aim to halt worsening nearsightedness in kids

NCT ID NCT06598423

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests whether wearing special soft contact lenses for a short time each day can slow the progression of nearsightedness (myopia) in children. About 80 kids who already wear contacts will use either one type of lens or two types at different times for one year. Researchers will measure changes in vision and eye length to see if the lenses work, and will also track any eye problems to ensure the lenses are safe.
