First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at whether eating fresh watermelon every day for 6 weeks can improve gut health and heart health in young adults (ages 18–30) who are overweight or have obesity. Participants will eat either watermelon or a low-fat snack and have their gut bacteria, blood pressure, and other health markers measured. The goal is to see if watermelon can help control disease risk by supporting a healthier gut and better heart function.
