First seen Jun 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests if washing the abdomen with distilled water or saline right after removing a pancreatic tumor helps patients live longer. About 845 adults having surgery for suspected pancreatic or related cancers will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: washing with warm saltwater, washing with sterile water, or no extra washing. Researchers will track survival, cancer return, and side effects to see if the wash makes a difference.
