Simple warm rinse cuts bleeding risk in weight loss surgery

NCT ID NCT07475169

Summary

This study tested if rinsing the surgical area with warm saline (body temperature) instead of room-temperature saline reduces early bleeding after a common weight loss surgery. Involving 200 patients, it found this simple, low-cost change during surgery helped control bleeding better. The goal was to improve patient safety and recovery by preventing a common complication.
