First seen Apr 08, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether routinely measuring walking speed in older veterans (age 60+) can act like a vital sign to spot early declines in physical function. The goal is to help doctors make timely referrals to prevent falls, hospital visits, and other health problems. Over 10,000 veterans will take part across VA primary care clinics.
