First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding tranexamic acid to a standard clotting factor treatment (recombinant von Willebrand factor) can reduce heavy bleeding after childbirth in women with von Willebrand disease, a bleeding disorder. Twenty pregnant women were randomly assigned to receive either the combination or the clotting factor alone at delivery. The main goal was to measure blood loss during and after birth, with follow-up for 21 days to check safety and bleeding control.
